Algorithm Updates: v2.9.8
A significant update has occurred with the Rubber Bands app's algorithm that creates your workouts, and it's a great one.
For some time, a part of the workout generation algorithm has been designed to boost exercises when you indicate that you own a bar, such as the X3, Harambe, or Clench. Once selected, any exercise that used a bar was increased to the point that exercises like Jacking Jacks or Planks were nearly never chosen for a workout. I've reduced the weighting of this significance in v2.9,8.
The original idea was that if you paid for the bar, you better be using it in Rubber Bands! Well, this comes at the expense of what are better-balanced workouts. Chest press with a bar is great, but so are push-ups. With this new algorithm change, you should see more dynamic and, quite frankly, more enjoyable workouts.
Some other things you will notice in the new workout algorithm as a result:
- More isolated core when you "mix in" core
- More body weight exercises
You can always fine-tune Rubber Bands by selecting to see exercises more or less of an exercise (or never). I'm always open to feedback, so please don't hesitate to reach out and share your thoughts on the new workout algorithm.
